The Cycle Of Pollen

Honeybees are best known for the buzzing noise they make as they fly and for their production of honey. They play a very important role in the pollination of plants.

By looking and these bee's and honey, i came across another way to generate my ideas, It is called "bee-keeping"

The Cycle Of Shapes

I feel that shapes are a cycle as it is a never ending line going round, and round, and round. There is no ending to a shape.

The Cycle Of The Seasons

Here i have displayed differnt images displaying the cycle of the seasons throughout the year.

I absolutly love this image below, i think it is so interesting and really works together and is easier to see the different outlook/appearence the differnt seasons look like with the same scenery, instead of displaying the differnt seasons in differnt images. This image is beautiful.

I could create a flip book displaying the cycle of seasons :

-a tree changing shape and colour throughtout seasons
-the colour of leaves or flowers and how they change
-the clothes that we wear through out the seasons
-the different fruits for each season
-the way that animals hibanate and store food etc in the differnt seasons
-i could combine these ideas to create something really detailed and interesting.

-These ideas would have to be drawn or the photos would have to be photoshoped as i do not have time to create the photos when the seasons actually change in real life.

The cycle Of journey

Everyone who leaves one place, to another is encounting on a journey, even if its to your toliet from your bedroom. Catching a train, or catching a bus, every type of transfere including walking is ways we can travel, then we will return to our home, creating a cycle.
Below is my jorney cycle to college and back, Starting from bingham and ending in Clifton. I feel this is a cycle, as 4 times a week at the same time i take this journey.

The Cycle Of Money

I feel that everyone has taken part in the cycle of money, or will do in there life time. Money is passed around every single day, the money you have in your wallet/purse could of been owned once before by millions of differnt people and may end up in their hands again. We pass around money every day, to a friend or family member, to a shop, bank. charity, hairdresses, etc and then they will pass it onto someone else for example a customer when giving change, this cycle goes on and on untill the money is distroyed. But the cycle doesnt end there.

I feel that this cycle is not the cleanest cycle, if you think about it, the money has been in so many peoples mouths, hands, on the floor, in tills, has traces of drugs on it and it is endless where the money has been. Imagen all the bacteria that is on each note or coin.

Flick Books Bobs Books

A great little idea For a wonderfully unexpected way to relive those memorable moments, turn your video footage into a Bob Books flickbook. Entertain yourself and your friends with these fun-to-use books, and create your own mini library of memories.

Our flickbooks come in one handy size (100 x 56 mm), contain 50 pages, are printed on 200 gsm matt coated paper (silver digital), feature a 350 gsm cover, and boast a special durable binding – ensuring that they flick perfectly, time after time.

http://www.bobbooks.co.uk/flickbooks/examples.html   is something i found on the internet which allows you to take a short video and get it printed as a small flick book

                 - here is a video that i found on youtube, it is an example of a ammoniated flip book.

Here is a short video of a flip book that i created myself:

The cycle of Humans, Frogs and Butterflies

Here is have looked at the life cycle
of frogs, humans and butterflies.
They all have simular cycles and all
can produce.

All these cycles change shape/form and size through
out heir lifetime

The Cycle of Emotion and Change

Emotion
We Humans and most likely animals all feel all different emotions, one minute we feel happy, and the next we could feel depressed and hopeless. Emotions are a sensitive subject and can change so suddenly. I think that to focus on emotion's in this project would be a also very interesting and i could cover so many different aspects of the feelings.

  • EVERYTHING WE DO, SAY, SEE, WEAR AND HEAR EFFECTS OUT EMOTIONS!
I feel that the cycle of change is also linked to your emotions, some changes make you happy, some make you uncomfortable and unhappy or even depressed.

The Cycle of Recycling

Reuse: Use again
Reduce: Make smaller or less in amount, degree, or size
Recycle: Convert (waste) into reusable materials

Recycling this a cycle that everyone has heard of, a majority of people actually recycle but others don't. The colour for recycling logo's are mainly green because it is a extremely eco friendly and environmentally friendly.  I find recycling very interesting and it would make an interesting video.

The Cycle of doing Laundry

Both images i have collected off the internet, they clearly show the cycle of laundry but one more detailed than the other, i feel that this is an important cycle, as everyone uses this in their everyday life. Although everyone uses this cycle, it is also uses up electricity and money, both vital things we need on this planet today.

I could make a video of the process of washing machines, and sorting an putting away the clothes, but to make it less boring to watch, add speed to the video or view more than one person/ washing machine on the screen at once. If i choose to focus on the cycle i will research more and develop into my idea or even change it completely.
-video of the cycle
-flip book of the cycle
-images of the cycle
-maybee video can be really fast?
-project more than one video on the screen, play them all at the same time or sequence them to start one after another so there is a time difference.

-i could take a differnt aproach my screen printing the differnt strages of cycle onto peices of laundry?
-i could use a different process to print images onto something such as an old washing machine or something that represents the cycle.

-i could also make a washing machine out of clay or something, and make a smaller scale and it will be hard carrying a real life washing machine into the college and would be expensive.

Meaning Of Idea's+Concept And A Cycle Mind Map

My Meaning of Idea's

A few different ways to generate ideas:

1- LIST

Here is have created a list, of the different artists that may relate to my work later, or that could inspire my work. I have then described briefly what i feel their work is about and what it looks like. i feel this was very useful and helped me start off this project.

2- FISHBONE

To gerate my ideas, i could use the fishbone technique, it is called this as it looks a small amount like a fish. in the box i would change this too "CYCLE" and on each scale i would put a different cycle, such as life; then in the smaller lines attached i would go in to depth, human life, plants, animals etc. I have never used this technique as such but i can see myself using this in other projects as i find it very useful and looks organised.

3- MIND MAP

I have chosen to use a mind map, and this is the technique i felt it would work better with me, but once looking at the fishbone technique i feel i would see the ideas clearer if i used that technique as it is more organised and neat.

I then read a book which my tutor gave out, it contains many different problem solving techniques, some of the techniques i have used are also displayed in this book:

This image above is the from the front page of the book.

Here is the fishbone and mind-mapping above.

I have used the brainstorming, but i came across the NEEDS technique. below i will try and use this as it sounds helpful.

NEEDS:
(a) what research do we need to make:

i need to research artists that are connected with my work, research on different cycles.

(b) who else will we need to involve:

I will need to involve anyone who i bring into my work, e.g friends if i do the cycle of friends, and i also need to involve other artists techniques or relate my work to artists?

(c) what materials and facilities do we need?
I will need a scanner, computer/laptop or mac, books, internet, photoshop, camera, photocopier, ideas, artist and a concept.

(d) how much time do we need?

I have five weeks to do this project but i feel that i would need more to actually complete my idea, and make it.

(e) how much money do we need and where will it come from?

I have shop credit so can buy paper ect from there, also have a full time job so could save up for objects, materials i need.

(f) what else do we need to carry out this project?

i need to come out with a clearly understood, organised, have a clear theme. i need to have clear ideas and a clear concept.

I feel that this technique would help me more if i used it at the end or near the end of my project.
